Mirja Spooner, Curator of Connection at The Laksmi Project came to DYE with the beginnings of an idea, to build an entity around her current passion and skills in hosting, relationship building, fundraising, development, and philanthropy. She knew she had something special, with curated Salon events around different cultural focuses, and an expanding network to non-profit organizations in Chicago. However, she wanted to take things up a notch, and craft a true to values brand for her already transformative work.

How it Started! // Studio Sprint

We started in the Studio to work with Mirja to identify and build the ecosystem of what is now known as The Laksmi Project. Through creative coaching and design:

• We sketched the eco-system of The LP. from offerings, ways to engage, and future goals.

• We developed the essentials of the brand - values, ethos statement, and visuals.

• We developed the language of the world of The LP. in a storytelling outline.

How it’s going! // Artists’ in Residence

Mirja decided to keep the party going after the momentum of our Studio Sprint, and hire DYE’s monthly creative retainer.

In this relationship we…

• support The LP.’s seasonal Salon events through brand awareness and relationship building, facilitation, and panel and event management - increasing engagement and attendance.

• identify, create, and maintain all creative - website, social, monthly newsletter.

• designed and built a website to share about The LP.’s mission and current Salon events.

• provide creative coaching to help support Mirja’s confidence as the face of The LP.

• create collateral - brand kit and logo, LP.’s Salon programs, and other creative.
