How you do it doesn’t matter
“How did you make that” is the wrong question to ask.
When we ask these questions we distract from our own creative process. Our own uncovering. Our own inner knowing. ✨We’re avoiding our own creativity!
Knowing the tools that help people create their thing is valuable but I am always gonna argue the “best marker” to draw with, is gonna be the one one closest to you.
Because waffling over the BEST MORE PERFECT WAY distracts from what I’m actually trying to do.
The HOW! The WHAT! Is irrelevant if we don’t know WHY!
Our story can be told in A MILLION DIFFERENT ways. There is no right answer to what IG graphic is going to make you a viral success. There is no perfect podcast mic here to save the day. There is no perfect sales pitch formula. The marker doesn’t make the magic. YOU DO. Your story deserves to be told, but getting caught in the HOW, HOW, HOW of it keeps us in analysis paralysis, telling our brains we are not to be trusted. Your creativity knows otherwise. The tools of HOW something comes to be doesn’t matter. The illusion of choice is real. Flodesk or Mailchimp do the same thing. We believe what matters is what story goes where, when, and why.
When we dive into our own creativity we can uncover our own process, and apply THAT to all we create, touch, deliver, dance through. And that it what makes it ART. 🪄
Our next Academy class is Sunday, MARCH 10TH - HOW TO MAKE MEDIA, where we will dive into what the “HOW” of creating something actually means. It doesn't mean buying the best headphones, researching the RIGHT platform (Luma, Google Form, Anchor oh my!). Flodesk and Mailchimp do the same thing.
It means intention! Development! Planning what (the story), goes where (form of media), when (what is the best time to share this thing with your audience?).
So that when we are moved to tears, its over our own brillance and proudness 🪄👼
Matching the story to the medium of performance it needs to shine is KEY. Turn next story into something you can use to meet your next goal inside your idea/process/project/business while creating a process that you can replicate over and over to make the next thing, and then the next thing. Let's never work from a blank canvas again! 📜
